Where to stay in Fairbanks

Downtown Fairbanks holds the highest concentration of accommodations, and here you'll find everything from hotels for business travelers to cozy bed and breakfasts. The area just across the Chena River from downtown features a few establishments that serve as convenient alternatives should you be unable to secure a place to stay downtown. The areas around the airport and the University of Alaska feature numerous accommodations, including bed and breakfasts and small inns in addition to hotels for business travelers. Just outside of town you'll find lodges, cottages, and additional bed and breakfasts that feature quieter settings closer to the mountains.

  • Given that we don't experience those temperatures in Australia, this was a must do for us. The cold room is located in the Riverboat Discovery Centre, within the large gift shop and to enter is free. ...  more »
