We stopped for dinner on a Monday night about 6 p.m. on our way home to Chicagoland. The very large main dining room had only about seven tables occupied. There were two of us. I was dressed in nice j... read more »
Suitable for all ages, this is a beautiful dairy and pig farm. You can see all the things that happen on a farm as well as learn, see a calf or piglet being born. It's a wonderful experience.
What a great day. We arrived just after they opened. When paying for our tickets we were informed that the 3D movie wasn't operating so they reduced our ticket price by $2.00 each. We did the pig adve... read more »
Unique setting and broad menu, good food. Was seated right away. May do bar high top next time I go thru. Patio in back. Serves beer and wine. Chili was wonderful. Flies find their way inside, hard to not notice a pesky fly. $92 with tip for 4 people.
We visited Fair Oaks on our way north from Florida to Michigan. Seeing modern farming is one our most wonderful travel experiences. Dairy cows and all the efforts needed to bring a very important food to our nation is so important to our citizens who have no knowledge where their food comes from. Fair Oaks does a really, really, great job in telling this story. One that only a very small portion of our citizens know today. I urge all to go and see this farm story. Yes, costs some money, but will be long remembered by Mom, Dad, Kids, and Seniors. Regards, JimB
I make sure to stop by Fair Oaks whenever I am able to. The grounds are well maintained and it makes for a great pit stop (with clean bathrooms). The fact that their products are made fresh with their own milk means that they are really excellent. I highly recommend trying the ice cream, cheese curds, and chocolate milk.
This is a great opportunity to reconnect ourselves and our kids with where all our food comes from. Many of us no longer have a direct connection to a farm in our life. There are tours available and well done exhibits. It was informative and fun!
