  • I rarely write reviews but we had such a great experience here that I just had to share my opinion. We did the pig experience and had lunch at the restaurant and both were great! Lunch was delicious and it was comforting to know exactly where our food came from. The pig experience was so fun and we learned some things too. We took two 12 year olds and a 9 year old and they all enjoyed it. I only wish we could have spent more time at the pig facility but you are bused there and bused back so our time was limited to when our bus departed back to the main location. One of the things that I was most impressed with was how clean it is. You can really tell they take pride in their farm and want to provide a great experience for everyone. I highly recommend this place for all ages and I can't wait to go back and do the cow tour!
  • An interesting place to visit in the middle of nowhere. A good place to take a break when driving from Chicago and Indianapolis. Decent food available. Good selection of cheeses. Very good milk/malt shakes.
  • Seriously, the best grilled cheese ever. The people working there are very nice. It's a great place to stop if you are going from Indy to Chicago. There are lots of activities for kids and adults.
  • Unique setting and broad menu, good food. Was seated right away. May do bar high top next time I go thru. Patio in back. Serves beer and wine. Chili was wonderful. Flies find their way inside, hard to not notice a pesky fly. $92 with tip for 4 people.
  • This is a FABULOUS restaurant! We started with their fried cheddar cheese curd with jalapeno and marinara dipping sauces (they're really great when mixed together for those who aren't fans of a little heat). The serving was huge and we scarfed down every little bit. My farm grown porterhouse pork chop was spectacular with their garlic potato mash and seasonal veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots - we usually eat our veggies a little more al dente, but they tasted so good, we didn't even mind that they were a little more cooked than we usually consume). My daughter ordered the Pig Sty Pizza and it was terrific, as well - a combo of pepperoni, Italian sausage, and pork belly. The cornbread was great (moist and delicious), and the desserts were enormous and so tasty! We had Apple Walnut Cobbler and Chocolate and (Red and Black) Bread Pudding. Both came with farm made ice cream from their dairy cows and the butter pecan and vanilla bean varieties are wonderful (and I usually don't like butter pecan!!). After we "finished" our meals (MOST of it, including all of the cobbler and the bread pudding, were in to-go boxes), we went to their Cowfe to buy some of their farm made cheese (a tub of the delicious cheese curds to try our hand on at home, and some 6 year old cheddar that tastes like a bit of sharp heaven!). We also bought a couple of bottles of their chocolate milk - only 2% but tastes like cream and the richness of the chocolate was wonderful. If you ever get the chance to go here (754 N 600 E, Fair Oaks, IN 47943 - just off I-65, a less than halfway between Gary and Layfayette), it's well worth the stop. We just wish we'd had time to take the cow, pig, and cheese factory tours - they looked really interesting!
