There is a nice variety of beer available. Not just all IPA's which some microbreweries tend to lean towards. They have a very nice Amber Ale and the Stoudt was very good as well. There is a walking t... more »
I ordered a flight for myself, then I shared a second one with my friend. Each flight included 4 plastic cups of beer (5 ounces each). The beers are delicious and the variety of styles was excellent. ... more »
I was at river horse brewery for an after hours event so my review is not reflective of their typical business hours/tours. The space was lovely with plenty of room to socialize with friends. The beer... more »
Some good brews and friendly staff. However, this brewery was the dirtiest I've ever been to by far. The stench of spent grains was so strong that we could not get used to it for the whole 90 minutes we spent there. Smelled like cow manure. After walking through the production area, we saw the source to be several open-top totes of grain. What I didn't understand was why they had the door to this area wide open so the tasting room was overcome with the smell. Cobwebs, spiderwebs, dirty floors, and that god-awful stench will be the reason I will not be returning to this brewery.
This is my new "go to" place for beer. They have some great short run specials and some fun events. Be sure to sign up for their Growler club and earn a discount on the 8th and 9th fill.
Excellent beers and friendly service! For anyone unaware in NJ you MUST take a brewery tour before indulging... It always was "a thing..."
delicious beer. staff is very friendly. I wish they close later than 7pm.
I went in and had a flight of beer. The beer was decent. So I went to order a pint of stout, and the kid behind the counter said, "you have to pay for it" in a way that indicated that I could not afford a pint. I was dressed in business casual clothes; so I can only think that he had a problem with the way I looked or how I spoke. I indicated that I did not expect a free beer or anything and paid my bill. It was a weird experience. My thoughts are that if you are thirsty and not from Trenton, pick somewhere else.
