Bear River State Park is state-owned, public recreation area straddling the Bear River on the east side of the city of Evanston, Wyoming, in the United States. The state park encompasses close to and is connected to Evanston via the BEAR Project, an interconnecting trail system developed by the city. The park was established in 1991 and is home to a small heard of captive bison and elk.Activities and amenitiesThe park offers picnicking, hiking, and wildlife viewing. Annual events include the Bear River Rendezvous, held on the weekend before Labor Day. The park's hiking trails include of paved trail, an arched footbridge that crosses the river, and of packed gravel trails. Trails are used for cross-country skiing in winter.

  • Plenty of walking paths (both hard and off beat trails). Excellent for walking, running and pet friendly. Very well kept with seasonal viewings of both Bison and Elk.  more »
  • We always come here when we're in Wyoming. Really nice place. It's a really pretty trail and you usually end up seeing deer or moose depending on the time of year.  more »

  • Love this park, it's nice for running, biking, or just going on a lazy walk along the river. The animals and wildlife is always a nice treat
  • We stopped here to stretch our legs during a long roadtrip. Convenient to the highway and a really beautiful place.
  • This is a great place for walking and forgetting about the city all around you. Convenient location and Bison, Deer and Moose are available for viewing on occasion. If you are not familiar with wildlife, keep your distance! Moose can be very dangerous!
  • An awesome place to stop and use the restroom get a drink and good views
