Thorncrown Chapel, Eureka Springs

Must see · Religious Site · Tourist Spot
A seemingly open-air chapel in the midst of a forest, Thorncrown Chapel is actually made of organic materials yet glass-enclosed and air-conditioned. The chapel is considered to be a significant influence in the field of architecture. The structure was designed so that each ray of light and change of weather makes the building appear different at every moment. Voluntary donations are accepted. • This Chapel is one of the marvels of Eureka Springs! One only needs to walk in and sit a while to be caught up in the beauty and serenity of the surrounding forest wonderland.  more »
  • A very beautiful little place, grounds are clean and we'll maintained. Nice place to sit and relax. Wish we had a little more time to spend there.  more »
  • We went on a Sunday morning and they were having service. We stood outside and took some pics of the beautiful building and the enjoyed the quiet serenity of the surrounding woods.  more »
  • A very sacred and special place. The chapel looks like it's was grown rather than built. You feel you are outside in the woods rather than in a air conditioned environment. Be prepared to spend some time in meditation. I would hesitate bringing young children since it is a very quiet place. Most people are silent or whisper. Not to be missed.
  • All I can say is, "Wow!" This church is like nothing I've seen before, pure beauty! Never seen a structure like this fully made of glass. I love how it's situated in the middle of the forest, only accessible by a short, walking path. Mind blowing and worth the stop!
  • What a beautiful place. My fiance and I were very pleased with construction of this gorgeous building. Will definitely stop there again when going through the area.
  • Very pretty. I dont like having someone sitting in there watching over me. Used to you could go in and sit in they have a worker or whatever sitting in there watching everyone. I guess some messed it up for us all. It's just not as peaceful as it used to be....but it is still so pretty.
  • I have always loved this chapel and made donations for many years. When it came time me to get married all I wanted to do is be married here. But they do not allow for same sex marriages to be preformed here. Although our donations we're welcomed we were not. Very anti-Christian.
