  • And I mean literal diversity -- there seems to be an emphasis in the shop on including books by and about Black, women, and Native people. I was very pleased to encounter this, as I make an effort to ...  more »
  • Locally owned bookstores with some curios for good measure. What can I say? Support local, read local! Also, make time for conversation with the shopkeeper - she is fascinating!  more »
  • I come in every summer and always buy at least a couple of books. Eclectic selection, cozy shop, good vibes.  more »

  • I read the Google reviews for this place before deciding to go there anyway as I love interesting interactions with people. I really enjoyed my experience, despite everyone saying it would be awful. I like the owners style - she doesn't allow cellphones and also only takes cash, so as long as you follow those rules and requests that are clearly posted on the door and counter, she'll be more than pleasant to you. I really enjoyed talking to her and she's an interesting lady. That being said, I didn't see many reviews about the actual shop itself. The front area is filled with self-help and kids books, and to left side is the fiction, classics, and historical non-fiction section. My fiancĂ© and I ended up grabbing about 4 books total, for fairly reasonable prices. I'm pretty happy with my experience there and would definitely go back. Go ahead and pay it a visit as long as you're willing to abide by the store owners rules.
  • I came here after reading the bad reviews. I found the owner to be quite pleasant. She talked my head off about various matters for about 30 minutes. She explained that she put the cell phone rule in place because of obnoxious customers she's had; I personally thought it was nice. If you can't read the signs on the door before you enter, then you don't have any business being in a book store - probably you're the sort of person looking for the latest teen vampire romance or its latest BDSM spin-off, neither of which you will find here.
  • Not a nice experience. Not nice people. Don't bother..
  • We absolutely loved this bookstore during our visit from Oregon to Eureka Springs. Although the footprint of the store is small, the selection of books is impressive, especially the non-fiction selections. The aspect of our visit that made it especially wonderful was our hour long conversation with the bookstore's owner. Her level of intelligence and insight was electrifying. We especially enjoyed the bookstore's strict policy of no cell phone use. Thank you Virginia! We'll be back.
  • Horrible place. Was yelled out for having my phone out. Questions her on why that was a policy and she told me because that is what she asked of customers. THIS IS 2016!!!! We put the books back we were going to buy and left. Do yourself and favor and do NOT go here. Was the worst experience we had at Eureka and really any place for that matter.
