  • The ES&NA Luncheon train ride is a fun way to experience a bit of the elegance of the past. The 1930's dining car is kept in excellent shape, the food is very good, and the service excellent. The ride...  read more »

  • This was a first time trip for us,they were very friendly and knowledgable ,we really enjoyed the trip.
  • My husband and I rode the train for dinner. It had great ambience and atmosphere! I loved how original it looked! The service was awesome! The food was good, but the prime rib was a little dry. The dessert (baked Alaska) was amazing! Would have loved to go further in the ride rather than stop to eat dinner, even though the scenery at the creek was nice. The setting was very romantic! I would do it again and recommend it to anyone.
  • Midday excursion was enjoyable more for the stories and history imparted by the conductor than for the ride itself. Ride was slow and didn't offer many spectacular views. Just mostly ran alongside 23 highway and a small creek bed. But it was the personable and experienced conductor who made it all worthwhile.
  • Its nice. Could be better. Seems a little cheap-o-depo to me because they dont have wifi, you are encouraged to take pictures if you have a camera or phone, they smash pennies on the track, weeds have overgrown some walking areas, and they dont have much track. Its the track where they park the cars to the South of the depot to the Y about 5 miles in the opposite direction then it ends. Its also a little bit enspensive for the dinner train. In the dining cars they play some kind of boring jazz. Lunch train is a fair price and excursion train is the cheapest at $15. They have the prices like this because they are trying to save up $500,000 to $1 million to fix an old steam engine that broke 15 years ago. Thats why the big, green diesel engine is the only 1 they use right now. They do have a very old turn table they still do use for the engine too.
  • Nice event on a well maintained vintage steam engine. When you see a negative review; be sure to click on the person who wrote the review and see all their reviews, as in this case lil rights only 2 reviews and both are negative! As where others wright hundreds as were vast travelers providing realistic reviews. This is a great place to take family and or kids, conductors even allowed my father to get on the engine and do some photos with them! Can't speak for the dinner, however dinner on an open car no ac train that only goes 1 mile each way is not going to compare to in town dining, you choose to do it for the experience of what the old times were like! That is a great example of those times.
  • My husband and I got the dinner ride. The food was mediocre at best. It isn't a ride so much as a sit. They take the train out a mile very very slowly and then park it. The train was almost unbearably hot and the seats are very uncomfortable. The dinner ride was supposed to take an hour and a half. It was over three hours long making us miss our prepaid ghost tour that is not refundable. You would be better off eating at one of Eureka's awesome fine dining places. This is over priced, unpleasant, disappointing and not particularly fun. I wish the website had told me that the "ride" really meant sitting on a chair with no cushion parked on a track in some scrubby woods for three hours.
