  • This 1.7 mile hike took my husband and I about an hour and 15 minutes. It was a nice little uphill exercise. This path is well traveled and a moderate hike. There were quite of few kids on this trail....  read more »
  • I'd climbed Spencer Butte years ago while growing up in Eugene and decided, on a whim, after dinner, to see if I could make it to the top while in town to attend my 55th high school reunion. I knew th...  read more »
  • We hiked with 2 teenagers and 3 little kids - ages 3, 6, and 8. The 3 year old did have to be carried in a soft back sling part of the time, but for the most part, the kids did just fine. This trail i...  read more »
  • The "difficult" trail is definitely challenging. A very enjoyable hike that will make you work. The view is great from the top and there is plenty of room to find a place to enjoy it, even when it's busy. The easy trail is equally enjoyable and mostly shady and beautiful. Very well maintained.
  • Really great hike. The view is fantastic, and the incline isn't that bad. They've added stairs towards the end, so that makes things a little easier.
  • Great for families and kids, a little tough if your new to hiking (or if you've had back or joint issues). But certainly manageable for little ones, and a casual walker. The views are great on clear days, and the park at the foot of the butte has plenty to offer the little ones.
  • Awesome trails in Eugene. Love that our city keeps this nature easily available for everyone. Long hikes, short hikes, there's something here for everyone.
  • Choose from 3 different 1/2-mile hikes. Not advisable without good footwear or if you're not willing to work up something of a sweat. Not the easiest of climbs, but the view from the top is beyond worth it.
