Peak to Peak Scenic Byway runs from Estes Park to Black Hawk, passing many historical mine sites and offering views of the Continental Divide. Small communities along the way are good stopping points for refreshments. The ridges and valleys of the Front Range serve as a backdrop for the journey. If you'd like to add searching for gold to your itinerary, stop at one of the old mines to pan in the creeks for a fee. The 89 km (55 mi) byway passes multiple scenic areas where you can hike, bike, fish and camp, including Rocky Mountain National Park, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, and Arapaho and Roosevelt national forests.   • Always take out of state visitors on this stretch of road. Beautiful scenery that leads north to Rocky Mountain National Park. Take you through the "hippy" town of Nederland that is neat to see.  more »
