  • Well worth the trip. The views are great. the phots taken by the telescope are wonderful. Drive up is by a very curvy mountain road. Have known others to get car sick, but worth it.
  • Awesome park, defiantly want to take the kiddos camping there this summer! We took them fishing at the small pond but our fishing pole sucked so we have something to attempt again next time. Beautiful park and there's a super cool old fire outlook spot that's on the map that's definitely worth checking out, u can see the ocean from all the way up there and it gives some history of the area. There's even a free telescope to use! One of the rangers told us Palomar is named because of the local pigeons that occupy the area! Dr Browner's the guy who made the soap knew how important this piece of forest was its spoken about on the bottles of his famous soap.
  • I love coming to Palomar. It's so close and yet so awesome. I've been coming here since I was a kid, fishing at Doane Pond, going to the observatory and all the different hiking trails. I've always looked forward to bringing my kids here and they too have enjoyed camping at Doane pond
  • I'm a 20 year old and I love these campgrounds! I've gone with multiple groups of friends, girlfriend anyone I've taken has loved it! There is good and fun hiking, lots of animal life!
