  • I really enjoyed the hike and I look forward to doing it again. From the parking lot, there are two ways to access the trails. One starts off, going uphill. The other way is to cross over the creek, v...  read more »
  • We saw this hiking trail is a book and decided to go. It was a great decision! The hike is great and it isn't too packed of a trail even on the weekends. But we do tend to go at about 7-8am. The first...  read more »
  • We use to hike here when we could park above the parking lot and walk around the gates...but, now they are not letting you hike until it opens at 8am...that's too late for a summer hike for us. I use ...  read more »
  • Good hike for north country! Mostly single track, but some fire roads. The hike begins with a switchback climb up from the canyon. Bring lots of water on a hot day. The hike out to the Lake Hodges lookout is a good 4-5 miles round trip from the parking area and has a nice view. The parking area is too small, but that keeps the trail foot traffic lower.
  • Great place to hike. Crowded trail that is fully exposed. Once you make it to the peak you will notice fantastic view of 7 mountain peaks to the north and east and the ocean to the west. Definitely worth heading up if you are in the area.
  • Great trail with incredible views. If you're feeling adventurous and have decent balance, rather than going up the main trail, follow the signs for the botanical trail. It'll add about half a mile to the overall length, but you got the fun of crossing over the creek by jumping from rock to rock :)
  • Very nice view. Hard hike if you can't do incline well. I walk slow and we walk 1 Hr 45 mins before you get to the split. Where it crosses three ways. It said 1.7 mins to lake view and I wasn't about to try that. Hope this helped.
  • Great hike to take when you want to do something short or long. Offers many trails that range in length . Watch your step for wild animals such as snakes and spiders. If you enter the park to the right you can find a nice seating area with a bench in front of the river that is often secluded and a great place to read.
