  • Get here early to get a decent parking spot because this is one of the most popular trails around. The hike is 6 miles but has quite a few ups and downs and so much walking in sand. I felt like I had ...  more »

  • This was our first hike since arriving in Escalante UT. It did not disappoint. If you are just driving through or spending the night you can accomplish this 6 mile hike (3 mile out and back) in less than 4.5 hours. The payoff is Worth It! Do it! It is a fairly sandy hike so choose appropriate foot gear. There will be sunny and shady sections of the trail. Do take plenty of water (3 liters per person). Do use sunscreen. Do wear a broad brim hat. Do take a camera. Do wear a bathing suit. You will want to get in that pool! You will remember this little jaunt for a long time.
  • Very awesome hike, everyone I talked to said it was extremely difficult I felt like it was as easy as walking down the street. Pretty flat trail the whole time. A couple of sandy spots in the beginning. Scenery was magnificent the entire trail and the falls at the end are beautiful. Also be on the lookout because you can spot Native American petroglyphs along the Canyon walls. would recommend early morning start or evening and bring enough water.
  • Took the family on this 2.5 mile hike to the falls. The kids loved swimming in the ice cold waters. It definitely was refreshing after the hot sun.
  • Breathtaking! Well worth the time and energy. As a result, It's a popular trail so it's best to start hiking early in the day. Especially if you want good parking. Also, it would be cooler since parts of the trail will be in shade if you leave early enough. Of course, later it can get really hot. Bring water. I recommend reading the information about the canyon in the trail guide at each marker. Very well done. The falls were amazing and bigger than we thought. We shared it with just one other couple before the crowds showed up. At 6 miles round trip, many kids could make it but it might take some time. For us, the whole thing took three hours with a half hour at the falls.
  • A beautiful hike through canyons with lots of water, vegetation and native American history. It's about 6 miles round-trip and can be hot - in any case, start early or you will not find a parking place and you will be walking in a long line of people all the way to the falls. The falls are beautiful - notice the water seeping from the walls, which form small streams that join the main creek.
