Waterfall
Stretch your legs and soak up Utah's astounding natural beauty at Calf Creek Falls Recreation Area. The towering waterfalls are the highlight of the rocky park, with the lower tier reaching 38 m (126 ft) and the upper tier plunging from 27 m (88 ft) further up. Most visitors to the area walk the lower-tier trail, a moderate 8.6 km (5.5 mi) hike traversing mainly sandy paths, while the more adventurous can scramble the extra 1.6 km (1 mi) to reach the upper falls. There is a dearth of amenities, so make sure to bring plenty of snacks and water. Take a break and refuel at one of the picnic tables provided. • Absolutely beautiful hike. It is fairly long- but the falls are totally worth it. I took my 11, 8, and 6 year old- and it was a hefty distance for the 6 year old. But if your kids are sturdy and you h...  more »
  • First off, there are two Calf Creek Falls hikes, upper and lower. My son and I did the upper hike, which does have quite a descent in the beginning portion. I have a surgically repaired knee, and was ...  more »
  • What a great sight! The hike in is moderate due to the fine sand, but otherwise a fairly easy hike to do. Parents had little kids with them and they all managed fine on a 85+ degree day. The falls are...  more »

  • Totally worth the hike! Gorgeous waterfall at the end and a couple little places to stop along the way and cool down the dogs in the stream. Dogs must stay on leash at all times. Please don't ruin it for everyone. Keep them on leash and pick up after them! Small parking lot, but we found parking on the side of the road. Even though the lot was full, it still felt quiet and peaceful on the trail. Grab the paper guide in the sign in box for an extra thing to do while you hike.
  • Really enjoyed the hike- we did upper calf Creek trail which is different than the main hike. You can do the hike in an hour round trip. Had to stop on way back a few times so save some energy for the return.
  • This is a great 6 mi hike for all skill levels. The water fall at the end is beautiful
  • It's okay. A bit overrated and super crowded. The hike is nice for families
  • One of the best moderate hikes in the state. Scenery is great the whole time and the falls at the end are a great payoff.
