Waterfall Water Body
Stretch your legs and soak up Utah's astounding natural beauty at Calf Creek Falls Recreation Area. The towering waterfalls are the highlight of the rocky park, with the lower tier reaching 38 m (126 ft) and the upper tier plunging from 27 m (88 ft) further up. Most visitors to the area walk the lower-tier trail, a moderate 8.6 km (5.5 mi) hike traversing mainly sandy paths, while the more adventurous can scramble the extra 1.6 km (1 mi) to reach the upper falls. There is a dearth of amenities, so make sure to bring plenty of snacks and water. Take a break and refuel at one of the picnic tables provided. • The tour 3-4 long hours is to recommend to anyone who is not afraid, not always good to find way to run a partially overgrown and even arrive at a beautiful waterfall. It runs through an impressive Valley and meet again an other hikers who had or have the same goal. With a little luck it is even alone at the waterfall. This tour has much better we like, as for example the rim trail in Bryce Canyon (much to run over).

  • It was a beautiful hike to lower Calf creek falls ! Totally worth the distance. The entire trek was beautiful. You don't see this in New Jersey. Loved every twist and turn. Saw the petroglyphs. How am...  more »
  • It's a 3 mile trek through some beautiful country to get to the prize at the end. A 125 ft waterfall awaits, and you can take a dip in the cool water. Just make sure you take plenty of water with you ...  more »

  • Totally worth the hike! Gorgeous waterfall at the end and a couple little places to stop along the way and cool down the dogs in the stream. Dogs must stay on leash at all times. Please don't ruin it for everyone. Keep them on leash and pick up after them! Small parking lot, but we found parking on the side of the road. Even though the lot was full, it still felt quiet and peaceful on the trail. Grab the paper guide in the sign in box for an extra thing to do while you hike.
  • Really enjoyed the hike- we did upper calf Creek trail which is different than the main hike. You can do the hike in an hour round trip. Had to stop on way back a few times so save some energy for the return.
  • Beautiful hike with great variety of terrain. It's 6 miles round trip with native americanartifacts to see along the way. The water level at the waterfall is enough to go for a dip.
  • Relatively short hike, about 2.5 miles round trip, it is however pretty steep to get back. The falls are underwhelming after seeing the lower falls, but there are some really great swimming holes up stream a short distance.
  • The hike to Lower Calf Creek is quite sandy (loose sand), and it was very warm in early June. The water and the view at the falls were perfect, though. Well worth the hike.
