  • We stopped here on the way to Mississippi to Arkansas. My husband, who unlike me is not a fan of stopping at roadside attractions on long trips, reluctantly agreed to stop. I was sent a Flat Stanley b...  more »
  • This place is a gem. Probably less than 2% of Louisianians are aware this exists. It is over 3000 years old. It is practically a North American version of a pyramid. Artifacts galore. Mystery galore. ...  more »
  • It now has National Monument and World Heritage Site status. Entry fee of $4 per person, no charge with a NPS Senior Pass and it is definitely located in the middle of nowhere. They do provide guided ...  more »

  • This is a great National Park, though a little off the beaten path. This is a great place to take your dog or your family! Take your kids on a picnic. Just don't do it in the summer! We felt like our dog was going to overheat, so we had to carry him most of the way around the trails. We really did enjoy the trails and the little Museum though. They have arrowheads and all kinds of artifacts chicken look at and take pictures of and the guy that is really nice and will tell you all about the property and how to get around. Also, it's on a bayou, so the scenery is really pretty. This might be a good place for a picnic and an umbrella to prevent you from getting too much sun.
  • Good for dogs, when it's not so hot out. Walked around the trails, saw some amazing history from the last 3000 years. Gentleman working the park was incredibly nice. There is a small fee not covered by the national parks pass. Worth making the trek to Pioneer for, check out the museum inside.
  • I suggest taking the tram for the information you get from the driver. We coupled this visit with Wild Country Safari ,and with both stops, it was a really good visit. Then we went to Epps Country Store and had a tasty lunch.
  • Amazing place not far from my house the power of human history is clear in this location.
  • Great place to visit to learn about the history of the South. Friendly personnel who provided excellent guided tours and assistance.
