Situated high above the Pacific Ocean, Self-Realization Fellowship Hermitage provides the perfect setting for reflection and contemplation. Run by the Self Realization Fellowship (SRF), a non-profit religious organization, the internationally renowned gardens lend themselves to meditation, study, or prayer. Meander around the beautifully maintained gardens, admire the koi ponds, or simply sit and gaze at the ocean view. After enjoying some serenity, you can head towards the Encinitas Hermitage, where SRF founder and creator Paramahansa Yogananda spent much time. The rooms used by Paramahansa are now preserved as a shrine. • Very peaceful garden and the temple to meditate or just relaxing fish pond and small water fall with depth of plants gives you really relaxing mood here.
  • The meditation gardens are free and overlook the ocean. So peaceful and beautiful.
  • Beautiful garden with many places for quiet contemplation. If you're in the area and love nature and gardens this is a nice quick stop.
  • AMAZING!!! one word to describe this place. The views and the ponds with the exotic koi are insane.
  • Hermitage Meditation Gardens are yet another reason San Diego is America's finest city. Just 35 minutes north on the 5 and you land in Catdiff by the Sea a town after every persons heart. Mandatory silence strictly enforced during most seasons however is laxed during holidays due to high volume.
