  • We love going to the gardens to play. Just be on guard with your children because it can be a place to get hurt.  more »
  • Gorgeous gardens with lots of walking with eye opening beauty. Courteous volunteers make your visit enjoyable. Take the 10:30 AM walking tour as plant antidotal stories are very interesting.  more »
  • We visited the gardens last December. It wasn't too crowded, so we could enjoy walking around leisurely. So many interesting and beautiful plants and trees. Has a very nice gift shop. It is reasonably...  more »

  • This place is amazing! I didn't expect much, but walking around there was a wonderful experience. If you haven't been then do yourself a favor and put it at the top of your list. So beautiful and immaculately maintained. It was educational and inspirational for a very reasonable price. Our family is now going to buy the annual pass as a result of our first visit. What a gem of a local attraction.
  • Amazing place for adults and also adults with children and also adults who act like children but who also have children. This garden is one of the reasons I love the area. It adds to the funky cool vibe of Leucadia. Its a well tended garden with a surprising variety of plant types that span a spectrum from New Zealand to Africa to Coastal California. Also there is a waterfall that smells like Disneyland. Go and tell me I'm wrong! There are also two parks for children of all ages. We take our 2 year old once a week and it's fantastic.
  • 5 + stars ❤ all time favorite place. It's so peaceful and an absolutely gorgeous garden. A bit pricey when it comes to admissions, but quite frankly I don't visit much to complain about the high prices. I try to visit this place at least 1-2 times a year. Highly recommend for both adults and the wee little ones.
  • I've been to San Diego many times but had never heard of this place before. My loss! This garden has an incredible variety of trees, flowers and succulents from around the world. Even in winter, there were plenty of plants with blooms. I especially enjoyed the unusual plants from Africa and Madagascar. Definitely worth a visit.
  • Very cool Christmas light display but...with all the cacti and kids there I would think they had some kind of first aid station--ended up getting a first aid kit from the gift store, which had some bikini wax type stuff for removing barbs. Worker simply handed me a giant first aid kit to look through and seemed kind of unconcerned that there was a kid with tiny cactus barbs all over his hands. For the record, don't let your kids pick up those giant leaf-looking things that have fallen into the walkways.
