  • The "morning" cloud cover seems to last all day - maybe just this time of year. In any event, we saw the Botanical Gardens with such gray skies they seemed to be ready to drip at any moment. However, ...  more »
  • Lovely place to visit, so much beauty! You can bring a book(or not) and enjoy the serenity. Visit the shop also. I will definitely be back.  more »
  • Coming from the Great Lakes area, we were really interested in how different the botanical life is in SoCal from what we are used to seeing. I have a feeling that springtime is the best time to come a...  more »

  • Absolutely love this place. I always go early during the week with my four year old when it's not too crowded and so that he has a chance to play with the activities in the children's garden. The aroma of the plants is so relaxing, very lush and green, and lots to see! Bring plenty of water there is a small cafe to eat at and be prepared for walking. There are plenty of benches around every corner to sit and just gaze at the beauty of this place along with art and sculptures. I enjoy is this place best when it is overcast. Parking availability is always plentiful, staff is always friendly.
  • All the employees I encountered were very nice and friendly! The grounds are very nicely kept, and there is so much to see! We were there for hours and only saw half of it. The Hamilton Children's Garden is very neat! Plenty of interactive areas and games. Better for older toddlers and young kids, rather than one-year-olds. Many more visits there for this family!
  • I love to come here for the peace and quiet. I bring my two year old and there are dedicated children's areas with books, toys, treehouses, sandpits, a model railroad, and of course the nature trails. She loves the babbling brooks, the waterfalls, the little lizards scampering about, the turtles in the pond in the bamboo forest, and I love that I can expose her to all of this without having to drive hours out of north county. Then when the terrible twos kick in and daddy needs some serenity now, I come back alone and park myself on one of the many shaded benches and read for an hour or two while enjoying some of the cold brew coffee or kombucha from the snack shack. If you live in the area, or even if you are just visiting, and you need to get away from the congestion and pavement everywhere, you'll be glad you came to the Botanic Gardens.
  • This place is beautiful with lots of areas to explore. All the different trees and plants make it a photographer's paradise. They had a temporary exhibit of interesting statues throughout the gardens that were a treat to see, very artfully crafted. Only complaint would be there was a tapestry exhibit that we couldn't find. Tip: shop closes at 4pm.
  • Nice collection of plants. Well marked. Steep trails not suitable for wheel chairs. Helpful staff.
