  • The SD Botanical Garden (formerly Quail Botanical Garden) is a wonderful oasis of rare, exotic, as well as native plants in Encinitas. Beyond the various plant species (organized helpfully by world regions), the garden hosts some wonderful events and plant sales. Their holiday event, complete with marshmallow roasting, is a staple for families with kids. All in all, the garden is a relaxing way to while away a few hours on a weekend afternoon, while learning something of the incredibly variety of flora on earth. Membership is also a great deal, as it carries with it reciprocal admission into all of the hundreds of botanical gardens belonging to the American Horticultural Society (AHS.)
  • A great place for a weekday outing with small children. A membership is well worth it for anyone who loves nearby. We love to pack a lunch and spend the morning playing at the two children's areas.
  • A good place to explore nature. Family-friendly. Lots of paths to walk. Also a shuttle if you need to get from one end of the park to the other.
  • This is a beautiful place showcasing plants from around the world. Lots of places to sit and just enjoy the surroundings.
  • Beautiful venue but could not believe the way the manager acted at a wedding. Watched him physically assault a band member (they may press charges!) yelling at him ! He was very disrespectful to the wedding party and their families. From a money standpoint keeping that clown on the staff is business suicide. Disgusting behavior and again, could not believe the way this individual spoke to the bride. Maybe would go back to visit the grounds if that guy is fired but will NEVER recommend this place to hold a wedding. For the amount spent, show some professionalism!
