  • First time visit, and enjoyed a great day of fishing. Staff was really nice and friendly. Caught 2 nice mullet. Will definitely go back.

  • This is the great part of Emerald Isle, hanging out with the locals and watching the young kids fish. I saw a 12 year old haul in several nice fish, I mean this kid was good and very well mannered...

  • The new renovations are amazing! Friendly and accommodating staff and pretty good prices! I love the remake if the updated look. Bright, happy colors and access is easier. I have been coming here for decades and have never seen it so nice. Plus pier fishing is good therapy!
  • Absolutely love it! I've been visiting here since I was a kid! I've always taken my boys and now my grands and they love it! I fish from the pier, surf fish and all. I love the water, although I don't care about tangling with the sharks! I would recommend this location to anyone...it has some of the kindest, finest and friendliest people to operate this establishment. Take yourselves, family, friends and enjoy!
  • I absolutely love walking on the pier at night. Such a peaceful feeling.however it's beautiful anytime of day! If you are just walking it is free to go on pier. You can also go fishing which anything you need they have you covered. They have passes, tackle, bait, coolers, coozies, drinks, snacks they even have changing rooms there and so much more. There is a parking fee during the day, I believe everyday during peak season, not sure about off season, so make sure you find out ahead of time so you can be prepared.
  • Great remodel. The inside looks amazing. I remember when I was a kid there were all kinds of stuff all over. Now everything is nice and neat, bathrooms are beautiful and clean. The pier is well maintained. A great place to go swimming or fishing, or maybe just hangout.
  • I don't normally like going to the pier due to the crowded beach, but due to the recent hurricane and tornado spawned by the hurricane the western regional access and park is closed until further notice, so I've been going to the pier in the evenings to walk the beach. It is convenient as long as it's during the week or after the summer season, so there's no fee to park. Also being that they have newly renovated restrooms that are air conditioned plus showers to rinse all the sand off of you, even though the water smells absolutely horrible, it's the dreaded sulfur water of the island. Still, people are usually pretty friendly and nice, except for the teens/kids that hang around underneath the pier that can be aggravating and think they own the place. Knowing all of these things and knowing who and what to avoid or ignore means you'll have a pleasant experience when visiting. As far as "where to sit" on the beach, locals usually sit to the right of the pier and visitor's on the left😉
