  • The staff was helpful and willing to answer questions on the exhibit. The jade exhibit was very beautiful and also informative. Was well worth the trip.
  • Small museum. I was expecting it to be a bit larger. Lots of carved jade and the mosaics were also not what I expected at all.
  • We spent 2 1/2 hours in this small museum and thoroughly enjoyed it. The artistry of carved rocks into exquisite ornamental forms and the tiniest of mosaics to form pictures was very impressive. Do go...  more »

  • Unexpected delight. The museum has an interesting collection of gemstone art above ground, and a educational exhibit below ground. The security guard is awesome and made sure we didn't miss the fact that the paintings on the walls were in fact not paintings, but collages made with pieces of stone! We would have totally overlooked the incredible artistry if he hadn't pointed them out, calling attention to the detail in a few where the joins were more visible. It was a really interesting collection with everything from traditional jade carvings to dioramas with realistic baby robins and a slice of petrified wood turned into a giant butterfly. Some of the examples of gemstones on the lower level appeared to be as fine examples of art just from being sliced and polished. Really beautiful examples are on display at the gem of a museum.
  • All of the staff were so friendly and informative. Even the security guard was approachable and helpful. I had no idea what lapidary was until reading about the museum in one of the tour guide magazines in the hotel. I'm soooo glad we popped in. I am shocked that for $5 we were able to see such an extensive collection. There brochure was easy to understand for a novice like me. The museum is well laid out and meticulously clean. I would definitely go back.
  • Elegant and exquisite place to visit. Very unusual, visually stimulating elements of all shapes, sizes, colors, and textures. Like exploring a new world...so fun to visit, could've stayed for hours and hours.
  • A great "Gem" of a museum. I have gone several times and keep going! Great for anyone! Very unique museum.
  • Going with a group to the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art., 220 S Cottage Hill Ave, Elmhurst, IL 60126 is always a great time. Their collection is phenomenal and can't be topped in Chicagoland.
