Schafer State Park is a public recreation area straddling the Satsop River midway between Olympia and Aberdeen in the Satsop Hills of Mason County, Washington. The 122-acre (49 ha) state park offers camping, two miles of hiking trails, fishing (especially for steelhead), swimming, birdwatching, interpretive activities, wildlife viewing, and horseshoes. The park's abundance of historic structures led to its being added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

  • This is such a lovely, peaceful park. The West trail was much prettier than the East. Old stone buildings and very nice picnic shelters in the day use area.

  • Very pretty with lots of trees along river. Best for smaller rv’s or tents. There are a few spots with utilities, but mostly dry camping. We did get a 44ft 5th wheel into one of the larger spots...

  • beautiful little campground. lots of trees. close to towns/cities and ocean shores. has river running through it and the kids played in it and raft in the river. nice place to camp. electrical...

  • Can't wait to hike these trails again. Easy to walk yet different views every time.
  • Nice park. Trails are well maintained and there is plenty of parking.
  • Currently open for day use. Well cared for Park with covered areas for picnicking and easy trails.
  • Beautiful and relaxing. Lots of fun for my dogs
