  • This place was so interesting. You need to allow a couple of hours to see all of the buildings. This is a great place for kids and adults to learn about how different things are made. There is a wonde...  read more »
  • This is a peaceful area a few miles north of Waco. It is definitely in the country, but that makes the experience much more enjoyable as my wife and I discovered when we visited. There are a number of...  read more »

  • The Homestead Heritage Crafting Community is full of polite, happy people who enjoy their craft. It's a great spot for a sit-down meal or to take a class on homesteading style crafts like woodworking, pottery, blacksmithing, and a host of others. They have classes on how to start a homestead, too. Check out their website. I've not seen quality like their woodworking school anywhere else in the United States.
  • Makes you wonder why we willingly live in a dog eat dog world. This place is calming, fantastic and gives you a glimpse of what a healthy lifestyle is like.
  • The grounds themselves were beautiful and well kept, but the rude staring and looks I got from two different women because I'm covered in tattoos was enough for us to leave. I totally get some people don't agree with them but to stare at people who would have been paying customers is all out rude! I respect your religion and way of life but your judgemental heart won't get you into heaven! God loves you and he loves me to!
  • Homestead Heritage is an authoritarian, Patriarchal, Shepherding cult. People are not going to get "cult vibes" by visiting, attending a fair, or taking a class. You aren't going to experience that until you are under Homestead's authority. You will, however, help to finance Homestead's abuse of its members by purchasing their goods and services. As former People's Temple member, Debra Layton, said, "Nobody joins a cult. Nobody joins something they think's gonna hurt them. You join a religious organization, . . . and you join with people that you *really like.*" It's not just the Fair food prices that continue to inflate. The Fair parking fee continues to increase. Homestead even charges this fee to park on property that doesn't belong to them. It's an attempt to increase profits to offset debt from the entire year. Then there's the "child training." An elder told one father to spank his sons until he drew blood. (Which, btw, is considered child abuse in Texas) These people are sick. Is this really what you want to support?
  • Great people. Great atmosphere. Great place for the family, as well. The Cuban burger is the way to go!
