  • We enjoyed this art studio/school tucked in the woods during the October 2016 art crawl. We were able to watch a wood carving class in session in addition to walking a small section of the grounds. Im...  more »
  • We stumbled upon this place on accident and we were pleasantly surprised! The location and buildings were outstanding. Our favorite place was the little getaway cabin right on the cliff, SOOO COOL!  more »

  • Lovely natural setting on the shore of Lake Michigan. This folk school offers a great place for adults to explore their interest in nature, arts and humanities, as they learn, reflect and wonder. In keeping with the goals of founder, Jens Jensen, who loved it as a special place where one could feel kinship with the earth and reassess one's life.
  • A wonderful experience and such a treasure of northern Door.
  • In the hustle and bustle of Door County Wisconsin, tucked away in wooded acreage you will find The Clearing Folk School. Students can attend weeklong, weekend, or one day classes throughout the year. This beautiful setting offers a multitude of classes in many different subjects. From music to art, literature, photography, nature opportunities, crafts too many to list and new classes being added every year there is something for everyone. Lodging is available on campus and the food is incredible. I go every year. You can see what is available when the campus is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday for tours from 1- 4 PM. The Jens Jensen gift center is open to the public.
  • Woodsy retreat offering solitude, beauty and earthiness.
