  • This hotel serves the basic need of having a place to sleep within walking distance of the venue. There are very few amenities, and if it's full on Friday, you won't have a hot shower on Saturday morn...  read more »
  • During our 3 day stay at the Grand Geneva Resort over President's Day Weekend, we decided to leave the resort for a day and make the short 20 minute drive to Alpine Valley Ski Resort.... We had never ...  read more »
  • Nice place for quick and fun ski/ snowboard fun. Not fence but charming place. Not to far from north Chicago are. Is my first time here but I will definitely be back.
  • We stayed here for a show at the amphitheater. We had a fantastic experience staying at the resort. The staff were super friendly and chill. No doubt this is an independent resort. It isn't Alpine Resorts by Hyatt or whatever, but that adds to the charm. A choosier traveler may find the rooms a bit outdated, but ours had a fridge and lcd tv and they were very clean. The pool was a lot of fun with it being a concert weekend, and the bar was hopping after everyone got back from the show. Just a great time all around. If you plan on staying here while there is a show, plan on there being some noise and people up late. But again, the staff all seemed to understand what everyone was there for, and didn't intervene unless someone complained or people were being jerks. The only bummer was that the entrance from the resort to the theater doesn't give you a good chance to experience the tailgate. But we had a great time partying with other guests of the resort before the show, so it made up for it. I can't speak to the golf or skiing, but the course looked nice. Hopefully we can come back and play the course some time.
  • Went to see Dead & Company here on Saturday. Beautiful venue, easy disabled parking. Great friendly staff. Bring your own cooler though, drinks are very expensive at the theater.
  • Went skiing here this past weekend with a troop of Boy Scouts. Conditions were great and the lifts were quick and not too crowded. Several boys took the group lesson and the staff was patient and very helpful. They even broke the group into two half way to ensure those who were quicker to learn received more advanced help while those who needed more help received more individual attention. Lunchtime had the food areas swamped between 12 and 1. Do yourself a favor and just wait an extra 30 minutes when the lines all but disappeared.
  • I go here for the mountain bike trials. They are much more challenging than the other trials near by. These trials have lots of climbing. I did the long loop and according to my computer it was around 9 miles. The trials are well marked and maintained. I'll definitely keep going back there.
  • The mountain bike trail here is fantastic, and the only amenity I visit for. It involves long climbs for one of the best aerobic efforts in the area. Fast and flow well marked and well groomed trails make this a must-visit for any local mountain biker.
