  • Easy peasy access off I40 - and right on 66. By far the best museum/Route 66 information center. We did pay a small $3 fee (Senior rate) to visit two of the many museum buildings. Well worth the 20...

  • Probably not great for kids (though I dragged my 13 and 15 yo here). I loved it (I'm 55). We locked our keys in our RV! The Cashier got me the number for a local locksmith who came and got us in...

  • Great visit to this beautiful Route-66 Museum. Didn’t have enough time to see everything. It would take several days to catch all the details and the fun the creators of this place put into it. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and when we do our next Route-66 exploration tour.. this museum will be at the top of our list of places to visit! Really can’t say enough about how professionally laid out.. and FUN it was! The small fee.. between $6 -$10 for children or adults is a very tiny price considering the quality of this museum. It’s definitely a “must see” for anyone embarking upon the Route-66 journey!
  • One of the reasons to be in Oklahoma this trip: to absorb as much as possible about Route 66. Spent about 3 hours here. The info is broad, the cars & displays are really spectacular. The mannequins are a bit over the top: the use of these figures is a bit old-fashioned in my view. Gift shop has some excellent quality items (mugs especially) among the kitsch. The outdoor sections had too many locked doors & blacked-out windows. Having said that, it was still worth the walk outside. A quick 20 minute walk through doesn't do it justice: make the time to let the stories shown in the displays sink in-- Route 66 carried hopes and dreams, but at times The Mother Road was also a nasty & unforgiving place to be. The museum shows both sides if you give it time.
  • My teenage daughter is a HUGE RT 66 enthusiast, so we knew we had to stop at this museum on our road trip through OK. It did not disappoint. The huge sign out front is perfect for selfies and it was only $9 total for the two of us. There was a really cool pink Cadillac that you can sit in and pretend to drive down 66 with a monitor that she loved. Cute little gift shop where I bought a calendar and ornament and got our 66 passport stamped. Overall, friendly people and interesting displays. Well worth a visit!
  • This place is like 6 museums all together! Every nook and cranny is stuffed full and the visual setups of the individual buildings keeps you engaged. Your visit starts in the Route 66 gift shop, The path between buildings is nicely kept and really adds value to the experience for the indoor/outdoor portions. It's set up like an old western town complete with a train car that you can climb up and go inside. Plenty of room for groups or individuals to move through all the spaces without crowding. I really enjoyed the rodeo museum on the second floor of one of the buildings The amount of personal memorabilia contributed by the Buetler family is extraordinary! Everything from personal customized luggage to ticket stubs...it helps tell their story. Plenty of RV and caravan parking close to the museum. Add this museum to your stop if you're coming close to Elk City. You won't be disappointed!
  • Great historical museum concerning the history of the area. Has displays from various eras, sections dedicated to home town people made big, Will Rogers is a staple at all Oklahoma museums. Cars and Rt 66 memorabilia is also displayed. Volunteers are very helpful.
