  • Interesting account of the Black Hawk War. Very imformative bit of Illinois history. Unfortunately we were there on a weekday and most interactive stuff in on the weekends.
  • Very nice experience amazing fort put together real nicely
  • Stopped here on the way to Galena. Apple River Fort is a nicely rebuilt fort on a magnificent site overlooking hilly northwest Illinois. Amazing how so many people lived in 3 small buildings and fought off an indian attack. No fee however there is a small contribution box in the center.
  • Great historical site and really great people. ;-)
