Nordic Valley Ski Resort Reviews
Family return visit to Nordic Valley for a simple reason: this is what skiing used to be years ago, before it became a huge commercialized industry with hefty prices. If you want a high-end destinatio... more »
Only had 1 Lift going not enough snow. Good food at a reasonable price. Everyone was nice that we encountered. I would go back again. more »
This resort was formerly Wolf Mountain, it is a small little resort with three lifts. But Services green blue and some black Terrain. It is a great little place for families and beginners and has just... more »
We came to teach some people how to ski. This resort is perfect for that. The snow that is here is good (not a lot of snow anywhere in Utah right now) the groom is nice. The beginner hill is long enough that you can take a lot of turns and even when it is crowded it isn't too bad. Great time.
Love this place, the staff are wonderful the amount of people there are usually at a minimum and 2 of 3 lifts are always on and the food is great but a little pricey. The chances that you get stopped on the middle of the lift is common but only for a bit. Depending on the time you go it can either have a lot of snow there or hardly none.
first problem of the day was that we called the resort prior to driving to the slopes. They had told us that all but two hills we're open. while they had many runs open, they were not ski worthy. The runs we're full of rocks and shrubs. second problem was the price. The website did not clearly state that the prices were more expensive for holiday weeks. we almost played double per ticket then we originally planned. thirdly they could have but didn't blow more snow. We won't be returning to this resort.
Oh man, I really want to give them more than 3 stars but I just can't. We paid $35 each for 2 half day tickets. Doesn't sound too bad but after we paid @ around 10 AM, we were told that the half day ends @ 1 because it's the holiday time. This was on the 3rd of January. The kids were back in school and the mountain was basically empty. But whatever. Then she tells us there are no easy trails that will get you down from the top because the easy run is muddy. I had a great time with my beginner skier daughter on the smaller runs but we wanted a little more after about an hour. I decided to take the lift to the top and come down on the harder runs. Usually she would come with me and take the easy run down. One of the runs I took I ended up skiing all the way down on grass. on the other side I ended up skiing on rocks almost the entire way down. I understand that mother nature sometimes doesn't help, but to charge as much as they are for a few hours of skiing on rocks and grass just didn't seem right. Basically we paid regular price for less than half of the tiny resort. Hopefully it was just a mistake that they didn't tell me about those situations before I paid. If she had, I definitely would have done something else that day. With that said, I've been going there since I was a little kid and it's always been a nice little Resort. It is what it is, it's at a low elevation and doesn't get as much snow as the big boys, but it's a pretty fun little place. This was just a bad experience. One other note, they have a season pass discount for Heroes. This includes people like EMTs firemen police officers as well as people that are in or have been in the armed forces. I spent 8 years serving our country in the reserves. I know it's not the same, but it still should mean something. When I asked if they would honor the heroes pass for me they said no. However, if my daughter who has an EMT from a high school course wanted to buy one she could get the discount price even though she's never even been on an ambulance. Again it is what it is. It's just a little disappointing to spend that much time serving your country and to have people act like it meant nothing.
Nice small resort. One Hill not a lot of snow but fun place to learn and great for night skiing. Also tubing hill. Take the kids up sledding!
