Coast Guard Beach, Eastham
Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
At Coast Guard Beach, watch shorebirds such as plovers and terns nesting in mudflats during the warmer months, and spot harbor seals in the winter. From the sandy strand, walk down the pathway and cross the bicycle trail bridge to get to the salt marsh. In the mating season at low tide, observe the seals "hauling out" onto the marsh. Ask a park ranger to tell you more about their mating habits. Amenities include limited parking, seasonal restrooms, and a wheelchair-accessible ramp. Fabulous views on a perfectly clear October day! Too cold to dip your toes but worth the visit. Not far from National Seashore.
Beautiful beach, with amazing views for miles. The beach is busy, but if you walk down far enough you can get away from the crowds. Great place to spend the day
Loved this beach! I loved the look of the old buildings along the beach. I can imagine it is spectacular in the Summer!
