At Coast Guard Beach, watch shorebirds such as plovers and terns nesting in mudflats during the warmer months, and spot harbor seals in the winter. From the sandy strand, walk down the pathway and cross the bicycle trail bridge to get to the salt marsh. In the mating season at low tide, observe the seals "hauling out" onto the marsh. Ask a park ranger to tell you more about their mating habits. Amenities include limited parking, seasonal restrooms, and a wheelchair-accessible ramp. Coast Guard Beach reviews
This beach was great. There was some very beautiful ocean rocks towards the middle of the beach, and the cliff overlooking the beach was beautiful. The waves were nice and during the summer the beach.... more »
Beautiful beach reachable by nearby parking and a beach trolley to the entrance. Be sure to go to the right or to the left of the entrance for the sandier beach access as the area directly at the end.... more »
My teenage son and I biked here from a campsite in Brewster. The CCRT brings you right to the access road to Salt Pond visitors center (which we did not see). Then a lush 2 mile pedal to the beach... more »
Said one of best beach in usa, but there are too many biting flies, green and black ones on the shore and on road leading to the beach from the parking lot, water is good and gentle, with refrigerated fountain
VERY crowded during the day! You have to take a shuttle just to get to the beach. But during the night, there is almost no-one there. I highly suggest going during the night, because of the lack of people, and because of how beautiful. You can also see the sunset from Coast Guard.
Wonderful, no stairs! There is a parking lot with shuttle service right to the beach. Newish bath houses plus outside showers. A roomy beach great for kids and no steep staircase so it is easy to take them to the bathrooms. Bring your own food to the beach and beach chairs and beach umbrella.
Travelers, this is a nice beach with beautiful vistas. Walking is great and the views get more charming. The sandbars are wonderful to walk on at low tide. The bird life is abundant and nice to observe, and we saw seals. Stay out of the water when you see seals. Sharks eat seals. But it is lovely. We recommend. Enjoy.
Nice to play with children. Seals and whale pass nearby seashore
