4.2
Daroga State Park is a 90acre Washington state park located on the Columbia River north of Orondo along the edge of Washington's Channeled Scablands. The park has of river shoreline and offers picnicking, camping, boating, fishing, swimming, waterskiing, birdwatching, wildlife viewing, and other athletic facilities. The park is managed by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission under a lease agreement with the owners, the Chelan County Public Utility District.HistoryThe park occupies land that was once part of the agricultural holdings of orchard man Grady Auvil. The name "Daroga" was coined using the names of the Auvil brothers — David, Robert and Grady — and was first applied to the Daroga peach. Following construction of the Rocky Reach Dam and the creation of Lake Entiat, the park was created on a flooded portion of the Auvil orchard.

  • This park is close to Hwy 97 on the Columbia River. It is easy to find but there are huge high-power towers right in the campground of this park. You can hear the air buzzing. Something the park website does not mention. There is also a steep down hill slope to the river from the campground. The playground is modern, but it is in the day use area not the campground. It can be a long walk for small children. The beach was badly fouled with bird droppings. Lots of irrigated lawns and some nice shade trees. Campsites were not all level, and some were tricky to park in due to trees. Showers require tokens with a vending machine outside the shower building. No refunds for unused tokens. Full hookup available.
  • Quaint state campground with very nice view and generous size spots. Green grass, very nice play area with beach and safe swimming. Only odd thing are the massive power towers running through it. You don't notice then after a while, and not much they could about it...trees maybe?
  • This state park is well-maintained. They water the grass regularly and the swimming area is clean. The campground overlooks the water and boat launch area. My only complaint is that there is a electrical main running through the park, it was about 100 feet from our campsite. You can hear the crackling of the power lines. Kind of took away from the serene environment There's not much privacy at campsites but it was roomy. Maps took us to the group campground and it was closed. The actual park entrance is up a bit from what Google says.
  • Very clean, well maintained park. Flat field style sites. Very little site separation or privacy. (Fairly typical of Central and Eastern Washington parks) Excellent water access. Great park staff. Clean but dated restrooms.
  • Really beautiful camping spot - not a fan of the power lines though. The sites were really spacious as well.
