  • My wife and I stopped by late in the afternoon. Our late August visit fell between the July harvesting of the French lavender and the soon to be harvested English lavender. Both were wonderful.
  • The North Fork has always been known for it's family owned fruit and vegetable farms. They represent the best of businesses run with heritage and pride. Lavender by the Bay fits right in to the culture of the North Fork. The hard work is evident in the quality products that they create. Before I traveled this summer, I purchased several sachets and assorted items to give to friends I would be seeing. I knew that they would make the perfect gifts as they did. I also brought some sachets with me to use while getting over jet lag. It was the perfect gift for me too! I asked the workers all sorts of questions about the different kinds of lavender and caring for the plants. Even though it was a bit busy they took time to answer my questions. I would highly recommend a visit to the farm.
  • If you live in the city don't take up space on the roads here just to see a small field of Lavendar. Seriously, I can't believe people would drive three hours to see basically a large garden. However if you're a local it's a nice place to stop to pick up some lavender. Baking lavender can be hard to find but you can order it online. I also would not pay $5 to walk in the "field" or take a photo. There are tons of beautiful locations on the North Fork to take some nice photos. Also this is NOT in the Hamptons this is on the North Fork.
  • Acres and acres of wondrous, fragrant lavender! $5 to walk through the fields, but it is totally worth it. They also have a great shop with lots of cool lavender bases products.
  • UGLY PEOPLE AT A BEAUTUFUL PLACE. I live in the same town as this place. I'm a local landscape photographer who has built a reputation for photographing local farms and wineries for free and providing a professional photo for them on social media. I never ask for any money or donations and I do it to show off the beauty of the town we live in. Recently I was driving by and noticed some nice puffy clouds over LBTB. Unfortunatly they were closed so I figured I'd take my photos from the side of the road. I pulled over and to set up my tripod and take a photo. within a minute a woman pulled up and told me I couldn't take photos of the lavender and that they don't allow tripods. I totally respect that places have rules and I'm not there to violate them. She proceeded to lecture me on how I'm not "respecting the lavender" and that I wasn't allowed to stand on the side of the road to take pictures. She said if I wanted to take photos I had to pay. I wasn't trying to piss this lady off and told her I was sorry. My apology fell of deaf ears and she told me that I wouldn't be allowed back even if I paid. I tried to kill with kindness, but it got me nowhere. I very easily could of stood my ground as I have a right to photograph anything if I'm standing on the side of the road, but I didn't see the point. Perhaps they will hire security or put up walls around the farm so nobody can see it unless they pay. The woman left a horrible taste in my mouth and was full of anger. I WILL NOT BE RECOMENDING THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY.
