Specialty Museum
Located at 17 River Street in East Haven Ct. (Exit 51 I-95) The Shore Line Trolley Museum has been an important part of the community since its incorporation in 1945 as the Branford Electric Railway Association. Founded to preserve the unique heritage of an endangered species -- the trolley car -- it now boasts a collection of nearly 100 vintage vehicles as well as artifacts and documents from the trolley era.

It continues to operate predominantly through the dedication and support of its over 1000 member/volunteers.

A visit to the museum is a multi-sensory voyage into the past, from the moanful growl of the motors, to the smell of the electric arc, to the feel of rattan seats and varnished hardwood detailing.

  • Historical trolley car ride. Was relaxing on a not too hot summer day. A fun experience for lovers of transportation.
  • Went on a field trip with a pre k class. Not the best experience for kids, too much history and talking about things they don't know. The ride they loved and the conductor was awesome. Just wouldn't recommend for a class trip
  • Really loved our visit here! We went for the Easter Bunny Trolley ride and my 2 year old loved it! Really cool to see all of the old trolleys and the ride was short and sweet
  • My kids wasn't that much impressed but definitely it was good place for the kids. staffs were very nice, too
  • Went with the kids for Easter Bunny ride. Get the Groupon when available.
