  • Interesting to see where the artist lived and painted. Well worth the low entrance fee. Make sure you see the floor in the studio. Looks like a Pollack painting.  more »

  • What a piece of history. It's not often one gets the chance to see where great art was actually created. I highly recommend the private tour which starts at noon. The Pollack-Krasner house is a must see art history experience in East Hampton. This is the bookend to Peggy Guggenheim's house in Venice. You're taken back into time and can imagine how Peggy's astute eye caught on to Pollack's work. Walking on Pollack's actual paint drips puts you into a surreal trance in the midst of abstract expressionism.
  • Really well done audio tour, shouldn't take more than an hour for the whole thing. Pollock and Krasner are also buried in a nearby cemetery with some other notable figures from the arts.
  • One can visit the house and the barn/studio. Do not expect any original art work from Pollock (except for one painting from his earlier period). That said, the visit becomes an interesting and fun experience thanks to the free audio guide, which provides a lot of background as well as some gossip about Pollock and Krasner. It is sometimes a bit repetitive and redundant, though. All in all, the audio guide's 8 clips cover a bit over 1 hr, and it is nice to sit outside on the provided chairs and listen to them while enjoying the view of the nearby creek.
  • Walk in the footsteps of the artists who lived here. Literally. Captivating experience to step and place your hands in the shadows of these great American painters.
  • Wonderful- preserved so well like stepping back to a different era.
