C. N. Smith Farm Reviews
We were in town over the Thanksgiving holiday and I wanted to get some apple cider so we drove here rather than just buy some at the local supermarket. I remember as a kid growing up driving right to ... more »
Great time! Staff was very helpful in pointing out varieties, educating us on the differences of taste and baking qualities, even some historical info about apples and how they are grown. It was crowd... more »
We went to C&N Smith Farms to apple pick and had a great time. It was not very crowded and we had a really fun time picking apples. You must try the cider doughnuts! Also, go before the busy season an... more »
I've been blueberry/apple picking most of my life. We decided to try this place. The farm hands are extremely rude to customers. They never smile. This is supposed to be a happy time for families. We were yelled at the minute we drove down towards the blueberries because we weren't going quick enough. Then they watch you with the eagle eye waiting to scold you for something else. Customers are an inconvenience here. They would all be better off if they bulldozed this place and turned it into a turf farm. Presto! Sell wholesale turf grass and stop dealing with retail customers.
This is probably my second review I've ever given but this warrants it. My wife asks the miserable lady running the apple bag stand if they have 'pick your own blueberries' since we saw a sign on the way in. She says they don't. My wife told her where the sign was so as to not confuse other guests but she was very rude, like we were the jerks. Nice first impression. 30 seconds later we got lectured about overfilling bags and getting a $5 charge if apples peak over the top. Rule signs everywhere. Not one person said hello and seemed happy. This place actually brought us down which is hard to do in such a cool place. Then we park at the store and we are getting our 2 y/o out of the car, and a parking attendant came over to my wife and asked if we were going to shut our door. Yup, that was it! See ya later. Never felt so unwelcome in all my life at a place. Too bad because the place itself is really great with plenty of things to do with the kiddos.
Great place to take the family and kids! Items vary in pricing from reasonable to unreasonable. Casual and relaxed atmosphere. No need to be overdressed. Very friendly atmosphere. They have a tent that serves lunch type finger food. Apple picking, cider donuts and drink, tracker rides, face painting and more. Will return.
First review I've ever done. Went to CN Smith for apple picking this past Sunday. Never again. There are far too many great apple orchards to deal with some of their mile long list of rules. The one I was most offended by, was the gentleman at the entrance explaining what a full bag looks like. Anything 'over filled' includes a $5 charge. For $28 a small bag, the bag should be FILLED. The donut line was at least 35 people deep. Clearly this place is having trouble handling the volume of customers.
Forget giving a rating, to think even to give a rating itself is impossible for me. A complete package of bad experience is how I can summarize it. Shocked and disgusted by behavior of person who said "He was the manager". If that's what manager looks like, I feel really sorry for others who work there. RUDE and very bad behavior. Even shouted "OUT OUT OUT", accused a young girl of stomping on apples!!!! REALLY????!!!! Made a completely nice going apple picking experience for my family a unforgettable EVENT in a bad way.
