  • This is a nice state park with beautiful easy trails. The dog loved it here. She first flushed some quail, then was very interested in the cows and horses. No crowds and it's an off leash place. Seems...  read more »
  • For a change of pace, Eagle Island provides several hikes that are accessible year round. I have found wild plums in the summer which provided me with homemade jam, have taken the dog swimming in the ...  read more »
  • First off, for those who've been to Eagle Island State Park before but haven't been there in awhile. The entrance has been moved from Hatchery Road to Eagle Island Parkway. I didn't know this and I fo...  read more »
  • My family lives this place. Great beach area for the kids to play in and the area that's roped off for swimming is shallow enough for my 7 year old to go out into with the water level not passing her neck. They have a playground and lots of concessions as well as a giant slide ($1 a ride), but honestly we spend all of our time in the water. There are trails all around the island for horseback riding and they have a nice Frisbee golf course, just be careful as its full of water hazards (not a beginners course). In the hot summer, expect lots of may be a hidden gem to many but the locals know about it!!
  • My husband was on the beach with his service dog which was vested and easily identified as a service dog. A park ranger named Matt approached and acknowledged that this was a service dog. He asked to see the dogs service dog card. Federal Law under the Americans with Disabilities Act does not require any Service Dog registration. For 30 dollars you can pay a website to print a card with your pet's photo and create a fake id card. These cards are not legitimate. They are fake. The dogs training and costs are not reflecyed. Under Federal Law you may only ask 2 specific questions. 1) is this a service dog? Dogs are not required to be vested or labeled. This question was skipped because of our obvious choice to label our dog. The second one is to ask what tasks she is trained to perform. That is all. Finally in the state of Idaho a service dog in training is also legally allowed to accompany their handler. What your park ranger Matt did was illegal. And it is not acceptable.
  • A water slide and zip line at a state park? No way! This place is cool and has something for everyone! My kid loves it and my dog too.
  • My favorite cross country race was here! I always loved coming to this place cause it's a beautiful place to go and it's always peaceful.
  • Eagle Island is great for family get togethors, birthday parties, or just to cool off with the kids. I like the park like setting as well. Top that off with the big slide and you have yourself a great time.
