  • We had decided to take a more scenic drive to our destination and the route took us through the state park. It was a lovely drive and much nicer than driving on the busy interstate.  more »
  • It was a nice quiet place to camp on my way elsewhere. Due to the size I would avoid it duing the height of summer. A rainy night in september, it had few people, all interested in fishing. Nice to wa...  more »

  • Very nice place to go and relax to do nothing, nice drive between Eagles nest and Red River, very beautiful in the mornings n evenings, several streams along the way to stop n try n catch trout, possibilities are endless, lots to do in Red River, worth the drive n the money, or lots to do Nothing in either place, take all your essentials and extra fishing gear, pricy in town, but at the end can't put a price on moments you'll capture
  • The drive from Cimarron to Eagle Nest is one of the most awesome, beautiful drives I've ever taken. The road winds between steep cliffs and a river through a forest, where we viewed 4 juvenile deer together. Arriving at Eagle Nest, one sees snow-capped peaks with yellow aspen trees on their slopes, down to a placid lake.
  • Love this park! The hosts were the best (August 2017) and suggested the best site for us to tent camp. The place was silent after dark - wasn't even any traffic on the road. Lots of day use folks fishing. The RVs could use their generators during the day, but most didn't. Very friendly people.
  • Great hiking! Different lengths not all are well as others. There are spectacular views in most areas. Some Small waterfalls & beautiful streams.
  • Want to get away somewhere special, this is the place. Hiking, trails, rivers scenery to take your breath away. There are bathrooms, bbq grills and camping areas all over. Don't forget your fishing rod. Enjoy
