  • For a small science center, this place is awesome! We try and support small "discovery" centers because they are more hands on and interactive. As for Powerhouse, it's a cool and funky setting (old power plant) with fun things for all ages. We expected maybe 30 minutes of activity but were there nearly an hour and a half. Great midday stop if you're coming through Durango and need a stretch break. Highly recommend.
  • Kept my 18 month old and 3 year old completely occupied for nearly 3 hours. I had a ton of fun too! Stop motion animation, fort building, air pumps, ball chutes, climbing tower, mirrors, trains, magnets, circuits, electricity generation, puppets, snakes, frogs and fish in a very clean and inviting atmosphere.
  • They have a good amount of things packed into a relatively small area and rotate it regularly enough that there's always something fresh to do. They are part of the ASTC Travel Passport Program which means if you get a yearly pass here you have free access to many other larger museums with the card you get.
  • Converted steam factory. Interesting exhibits. Fun for kids. Not very big, but I got to hold a baby chick named Rogue. Trina showed us around and provided interesting facts. Big vandegraaff generator. Madagascar cockroaches. Trina was holding a striped snake as we left. Fun stop in Durango. Kinda pricey, but since we had no kids, they didn't charge us at all for looking around. Nice folks in Durango.
  • Myself, my wife and my two kids had a BLAST here, would definitely recommend and go again and again
