  • The Withlacoochee State Trail is a fabulous bike trail built over an old railroad line in Florida. It is 46 miles long and blacktopped the whole way. It is a great flat trail that is easy to traverse ...  more »
  • Like most rail trails, this one is flat and easy to ride, and like most rail trails, it crosses roads for motor vehicles. Unlike many rail trails, this one had only a modest amount of traffic on the d...  more »
  • Parked near the 6 mile mark on Croom Rital road. Great section of trail for a run or bike. There were some nice shady sections where were a pleasant surprise. Bathroom facilities at the parking lot.  more »

  • Fantastic bike ride. I parked here and rode the 40 miles (80 round trip) up to the trail terminus. The entire trail is GORGEOUS, with lots of gems along the way. You'll pass through Hernando, Dunellon, and my favorite, Floral City. Get ready to experience these town up close and personal from a bike. There are other trail parking lots as well if you don't want to ride as far as I did. If you have a bike you should definitely get on this trail!
  • Great views and Serene setting plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained from the physically minded to children and between
  • Great paved cycling trail along an old rail line. Passes through many small communities and different ecological environments. Nature at its best.
  • Great bike trail. Beautiful scenery
  • I use this trial for walks as well as riding my bike. I also live on the trail. Most of the regulars probably know my house because if I'm out in the yard my German Shepherd barks at anyone riding on the trail. He considers it his trail. I apologize for that. As for the safety, the trail is 100 percent safe. I have seen many park workers and LEO while using the trial and while working in the garden (I can see the trail from my garden). I even let my grandboys use the trail.
