Caladesi Island State Park, Dunedin
(4.4/5 based on 900+ reviews on the web)
Caladesi Island State Park is one of the rare, completely natural Florida's islands in the Gulf and has a great beach. Accessible by boat or ferry, the park features a nature trail as well as picnic tables, pavilions, and a playground. You'll find a snack bar and a gift shop on-site. Hike the 5 km (3 mi) of trails and watch for birds feeding around the shallow waters. With a bit of luck, you may see turtles and tortoises. You can try kayaking through mangroves and in the bay. • Accessible by passenger ferry from the honeymoon Iceland from State Park. A beautiful tour through the Interior of the island, which ends at the beach (1 h). Then it runs back on the beach to the landing of the ferry. The beach is much less visited than the beach in the honeymoon Iceland State Park.

  • Quiet, beautiful beach. The ferry ride is very reasonable - coupom available on line. Boat ride mad even better by boat captain stopping to watch Dolphins! highly recommend this side trip from Honeymo...  more »
  • We took the ferry over the "captain" was helpful, the cafe is like everthing in the area grossly over priced. We had a nice walk round but there was very little by way of wildlife to see
