3.9/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web
Kings Dominion, a 160 hectare (400 acre) theme park, is home to more than 60 rides, numerous live entertainments shows, and a waterpark. Explore the park's themed "neighborhoods," such as International Street, showcasing European architecture, and Old Virginia, featuring old-fashioned country scenes. The Planet Snoopy area features a number of kid-friendly rides, while rollercoasters such as Anaconda and Intimidator 305 ensure that thrill-seekers are kept on (or off?) their toes. Stay hydrated throughout the day with a refillable souvenir bottle. If you purchase the bottle, you can get free Coca Cola drink product refills during your visit. Save money by purchasing the bottle online beforehand. • Let me express to you my love/hate relationship with this park. First I'll start by stating I've been to sooo many amusement parks including Busch Gardens, Universal studios and adventure island, six ...  read more »
  • I don't plan on Renewing our Season Passes. The park is okay. I'm just not happy with how Pass Holders were treated.
  • For the 5 year, we have thoroughly enjoyed the Halloween haunt with roller coasters at the park. We go before 6pm to ride a little and get in line for the more popular haunted house themes. The doll h...  read more »
  • KINGS DOMINION! Where to begin! I love this place so much! its absolutely spotless, the food is great, and the park is beautiful: from the trees to the landscape to the 305-foot Eiffel Tower that dominates the skyline. The ride is packed with coasters and thrill rides, and other rides as well (kiddie rides in Planet Snoopy). Soak City is awesome too, an awesome water park and easy entrance from the main park to the water park. In my opinion you can't do the whole place in one day, do 2 full days if you want to cover all the rides. It's a BIG park, hard to navigate so always have a map. KD is the best!
  • Great place overall. We went on all of the family-friendly rides today. The rides are wonderful! The only reason I won't give it 5 stars was because the food was very overpriced and not great. ( we are at the Hungry Hippo)
  • Kings Dominion is a one of a kind theme park situated in the middle of Virginia right off of interstate 95. Its loaded with tons to do, including a dozen roller coasters, various thrill and flat rides, a kids area themed after Snoopy, 2 water rides and a water park. The park is detailed very nicely and has adequate space for walking. We had tons of fun the other day when we were there. We used the fast lane passes and they were only useful later on in the day when the crowds started to pour in. Intimidator 305 is a top 5 roller coaster in my book and Volcano, Blast Coaster is tons of fun. The new Delirium is a complete rush, but don't wait over 20 minutes for it. The line is slow moving. Take a look on top of the Eiffel Tower. You get tons of great views and great pictures.
  • This park is fantastic! The atmosphere, ambiance, themeing it all just hits you the moment you walk in the front gate. International street with the fountain, Eiffel Tower, all the different flags, it all just gives you this great feeling. The rest of the park has nice themeing as well. The two star attractions I would say are I-305 and Volcano. I-305 is probably the most intense ride I've been on and it was a lot of fun. The force on those high speed turns are something else! Couple that with the nearby Volcano coaster that blasts you out of a fire spewing mountain, and you have a great one-two punch. The whole park was fantastic and I can't wait to get back! I'm excited to see what Cedar Fair has in store for the park in the future!
  • This is a fun park - a bit of a drive from the DC metro area, but worth the time. It combines both a water park and theme park into one - so when it gets hot at mid day, go cool off. The crowds can be bothersome at times so plan mid week trips or spend a couple of days in one of the cabins and go in the evenings to skip the long lines. The meal plans and drink cups are worth the money - split between 2 people and the price is a reasonable ($42 if not split) $21 for all day drinks and food every 90 minutes. I would recommend to my my friends.
