4.1/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web
Take a step back in time at Boot Hill Museum, where you can see a living history of the American Wild West. Taking its name from the cemetery that once stood in the area--one that was generally reserved for cowboys and figures who died violent deaths--the museum catalogues a variety of topics, events, and people from the history of western expansion. Visit the recreated city street--which often features costumed western characters--and wander its shop fronts, admiring its displays of period buildings and interiors. Browse its extensive collection of more than 60,000 objects pertaining to the era, including Native American artifacts, photographs, firearms, clothing, and personal items from many of the city's past residents. Keep your eyes open and you may even see a re-enacted gunfight or other historical drama right outside. • Very unique and interesting. Because of schedule we didn't stay for all the daily activities but it all looked fun. We did hang out and play on the train and enjoyed that piece of history.
  • If a person knows anything about the old West this is a must visit place. I lived here 35 years ago and still enjoy visiting. The folks that entertain you at Boot Hill truly enjoy what they do and it spills over into making a visit truly memorable.
