Art in the city is one of my favorite and this gem is down by the river. Out of nowhere and to the entrance of the historic Woodward Road. A great way to start our city walk.
Worth a visit. Large sculpture by the river. Nice photo op. My son was very impressed by this. Visit while you're walking around by the river.
A photogenic structure in downtown Detroit, close to lots of attractions. The sculptor, Marshall Fredericks, waived his fees because he believed it was his civic responsibility to create this. A worthy message to remember that while personal responsibility nowadays seems to be something we only read in books, it exists right here in the spirit of Detroit.
Pretty cool tribute to the city. Must see.
It's The Source of Energy for the hard working people of Detroit
I love Detroit! I grew up in the Suburbs but times going to Hart plaza, we'd always have to stop by to see the Spirit of Detroit. Going to do anything whether it be the Fox Theater or the spinning restaurant on the very top of the Renaissance center aka GM building. We love the Spirit!
