We actually had free passes for general admission, but I do not know what good it. served as we still spent over $60 on the "extras". First, do NOT waste money on bioluminescence exhibit. This was a t... read more »
We thought this was one of the better childrens museums we've visited. We learned a lot, right along with the kids. Tons of hands on exhibits, accompanied by great facts/explanations. Loved all of the... read more »
Great place to take the kids. Several things to see and lots of hands-on displays. Seeing the planetaruim was cool .
Great family fun. Very educational. Love the science Tesla lab staff..they are the best. Life like space and construction displays. One star removed for lack of parking. Would be nice if they would open a parking structure. You have to park in the streets, if the valet and small lot is full. On the street it's a 2 hour max at 2.00 an hour. I had to run back out, and move my car. Very difficult with 3 small kid's.
We had our daughter's wedding here at the Science Center. It was the best wedding ever, and the set up was wonderful. Chelsea was our point person and great at helping us organize the event. Kevin created "the stars and sky" in the IMAX to make this wedding special. The dance floor was open to see from the dining area, and the elevator was clear so we danced when going up and down! The IMAX theater was a great place for the ceremony; everyone could see, it was comfortable, and the acoustics were perfect for the musicians. It was definately a night to remember.
We've got a good experience there, many exhibits to explore. My son found the toy factory very interesting and liked the model of the Mackinac Bridge. We also visited the Dome IMAX theater, which turned out quite good, but a bit dated. Overall we liked it. The admission is pricey, can be more affordable. Cannot understand other reviewers complaining about parking, $7/day DIA parking is near by.
I had a BLAST at my latest visit to the Michigan Science Center. I love that they are doing Third Thursday events just for adults, providing drinks while also learning about SCIENCE. My friend and I had a great time making light art and going into the Planetarium.
Kids love this place, so many educational things for the kids to explore. Kids town in the basement is perfect for kids under five. The IMAX movie are always great and so exciting. Their live show/presentations are very cool and interactive. The toytopia was one of the kids favorite exhibits to bad it was only temporary. My only recommendation would be a permanent coding exhibit vs just a temporary one.
