Where to stay in Detroit

Detroit offers accommodations to suit every type of traveler, and you don't even have to stay in the central business district to take advantage of the finest hotels. Downtown lodging gives you easy access to most of the city's major attractions, but choosing a more affordable room in Detroit's outlying neighborhoods can also be rewarding. To explore the city's famously diverse neighborhoods, consider staying at a budget-friendly guesthouse on the southwestern side of the city.

  • Our entire family ages 3-65 found the exhibits fun, informative and interesting. The 3 year old enjoyed the Kids area, and the adults were fascinated by the engineering exhibits.  more »
  • This place has it all, a great place for STEM learning for the community always different events going on, looking forward to the new Toyota Engineering 4D theater opening up, should be very cool!  more »
  • As others have said, the Michigan Science Center is well done with great hand on exhibits for children. It seems to be best for the older child. If anyone is going soon, please do not let your child a...  more »

  • Fantastic day out, plenty for my daughter to do, loads of demonstrations. Loved being in the Faraday cage! Basf live was great fun
  • Hours of hands on, interactive, fun science exhibits. My grown children still love to come here! 😀
  • My son was here for a scouting event. Was a great experience and though it hasn't changed much over the last year or two since we went last, it doesn't need to. The exhibits are fun and educational.
  • SUPER dirty, looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 10 years. Bathe your kids immediately after taking them here. It even smells bad. A lot of exhibits don't work. Basically the whole place needs work. And don't take anyone over 10 years old. The science center is meant for young children
  • Great facility for 12 and under. Nice little planetarium. Excellent for school groups. The current exhibit on bio-luminescence is great and very informative. Make a day out of it and hit the other very nearby museums!
