  • Needs a ton of work, BUT, soooo much history and so much to see. Good place to volunteer, the staff is incredible and very knowledgable. Wish more people would visit and help here.
  • Seeing the design and the planning and construction for a fortification which was never used was very interesting.
  • The initial presentation that explained the history of the Fort was interesting, made me eagerly anticipate the tour. The buildings are amazing, the opportunity to get up close to history is a wonderf...  more »

  • Beautiful tour, knowledgeable tour guide and very nice staff, a great start to my adventure into history travels. Very excited to visit again and learn more about the fort.
  • It could be beautiful. Just another tragedy made out of Detroit. Hope the State takes it over. It could be so much more.
  • Remarkable piece of Detroit and American history. Be sure to take advantage of the tours offered and their special events like civil war Christmas or a haunted tour. They're also a fantastic location to host big corporate events or small and intimate weddings. I go every chance I get!
  • Really cool piece of history. You can walk through the fort and any buildings that are open that day.
  • Although getting to Historic Fort Wayne will have you driving through some sketchy areas, and the soccer fields are a little messy, this is a great location for recreational sports.
