  • You can't go wrong at Eastern Market, where you can find just about anything you want in fruits, vegetables, and even some prepared foods! I love getting my McClure's Bloody Mary Mix there (get the '2 for' deal) and my wife loves the sweet potato pies. We get there early and enjoy our time together. If you go later, looking for a place to park is a little harder, but still worth it! Even though most places now take cards, bring cash and you'll get around faster (plus some place don't take cards yet). This is also the location of the Michigan Brewers Guild Detroit Fall Beer Festival. Great location! Just a great place overall!!!
  • Often quite crowded, but a great place to find local produce and other goods on Saturdays. Come early to beat the crowd or come late to get the best deals. Take the bus or bike to avoid having to struggle for parking. If you have a Bridge card, you can buy tokens at the office to use in the market which is convenient. Michigan produce is half price with your tokens, too!
  • This is were my family would go For grocery shopping in the 1970's, 80's; when we lived in the Brewster Projects. I grew up, going there as A little boy, there were farmers of all types, and the food was straight from them. So if you knew witch Lot's to go to you could shop for, fresh food direct from the source. No "middle-man", just from the farmers. I really haven't don just that in some decades, but if it can still be don it should be an historical land mark, like the Brewster Projects, and Brewster Center, should have become.
  • Interesting experience and worth a visit. I plan on visiting again when the weather warms up to check out the outdoor vendors. Not sure where the produce and vegetable are coming from in the middle of winter. Not a fresh Michigan crop. But bought a few thing including a Detroit Manufacturing T-Shirt. A small, but nice cactus for only $2, way cheaper and larger than the cactus I got from the local chain store. And Wolf Moon drink mixer for the perfect and easy craft cocktail. Also fresh made chip and salsa! I wanted to check out the food truck, but it was SO cold it kept us for taking the time to pick a truck and eat outside. Excited about making a return visit. I was impress with the vendors in the winter, can't wait to see the summer vendors.
  • Absolutely wonderful experience. This area of Detroit has really come back to life. The shops surrounding the market are full of wonderful shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. The sheds were full of produce, pastries, flowers, etc. Everyone was friendly and the area felt incredibly safe.
