Very good. 7 parking but otherwise free. Great review of Detroit history in all aspects but seems like an obit for a once proud city.  more »

We have to stop, it is ppossible to see an assembly line. Also, we learn a lot about the history of Detroit and the region. Exhibitions of very good quality, especially for a free Museum!

A beautiful museum about the history of Detroit. Below is a number of shopping streets after created. Very nice shops with recognizable business. On the ground floor with all sorts of themes by period and of course many car history. Also very much about innovation. There is also attention for the role of Detroit in the underground railroad (flight of slaves to a safe Canada)

What a wonderful place, and for free! It shows the history of Detroit from the the beginning to today, covering all aspects of life: stores, homes, culture, industry, sports, political. It takes about two two four hours, depending on your pace. For comparison, the Field Museum in Chicago takes easily a day, the Ford Museum one afternoon.

From out of town, amazed by this FREE museum. Great place to spend a few hours. Institute of Art is across the street and many good places to eat and drink nearby.

Can't beat free admission. Very cool exhibits both permanent and rotating. Love coming here once in a while: always find something new.

I can't believe this wonderful museum is for FREE visit! I had a 4-hours stay while originally 2 hours were planned. The best place for your to start your visit in Detroit, there are so many breathtaking displays to show you the once prosperous Detroit--- a motor and musical city.

Admission is free, but parking has a modest fee. Wanna know about D-Town's history? Come here for a juicy lesson. This museum is great for the hungry mind, harboring artifacts and exhibits for and from Detroit's past. Like chunks from old tiger stadium, a full-scale functioning replica of a car assembly line, old vehicle models, and much more. My favorite section by far are the streets of Detroit located in the lower level. Check out it!
