Where to stay in Destin

Most of Destin’s vacation accommodations are hotels, motels, and high-rise condominiums. For a luxury vacation stay, you can find a number of large houses located along the coast. Not only do these properties boast superb sea views, but many are within easy walking distance of the beach and some of the city’s best restaurants and bars. Pitch a tent at a local campsite to save a few dollars and take advantage of the Emerald Coast’s mild weather.

  • THe museum is small but packed with fishing gear and local history and information. It's one of only a few things to do other than wasting time shopping.  more »

  • Wonderful experience. The kids loved it. More than fishing. The history of Destin.
  • Great little museum, a good place to take the kid's. The staff is awesome!
  • The person who gave the museum one star sadly cares more for shopping and dining than discovering the story behind how it all began and developed. If it's not shinny and new; it's boring. How sad.
  • Extremely boring and not much in the way of excitement. Costs too much to get in for such little enjoyment. I can't speak for people who are avid fisherman, but this place did not catch my interest and felt like a waste of money.
