  • I enjoyed the diversity of themes from the abstract to the purely literal. The sidewalks are wide enough to allow proper flow through the park, even if you bring along your dogs. Waste bags are available, so please clean up after your pet. There is a lovely water feature and water fountains for the warmer months. The landscaping is top-notch, with ample grassy areas and well-groomed trees. This is a great showcase of artistry and it is minutes from the airport so you have no excuse to miss this great attraction.
  • Want to see a visual representation of someone else's nightmares? Of course you do! Head on down to the Pappajohn sculpture park and see fantastical 3D sculptures of some sort of monster arachnid, a face with what is either a mouth sewn shut or oddly needle-like teeth, and driftwood horses that look ready to run you down. If the sculpture park invades your own nightmares, don't worry. That's what sculpture parks are supposed to do.
  • We went here yesterday for the Des Moines art festival. The park itself is very clean, well maintained and offer a lot of spaces to relax and just hang out. Would highly recommend to visit this sculpture park if you're in the area!
  • A wide range of styles, and all of it very accessible. Love to see public art/green space in urban areas, and to see so many people taking advantage of it. A great asset!
  • I love the sculpture park. It's a testament to Describe Moines' dedication to the arts and culture that is largely under-appreciated by anyone who's never been here. Unfortunately, there is a cleanliness issue that must be addressed. There aren't enough trash receptacles for the public to help maintain this otherwise lovely space. I'd love to see creative solutions for that as well as a few shaded spaces in the future. In the meantime, this will still be one of my favorite spots in the city.
