  • If you've never been to the Iowa State Fair you must go. It is one of the most amazing fairs that I have ever attended. There's much more than just the fare to go and see the barn races with all the go-karts motorcycles lawnmowers Etc is definitely a must. They have many other things going on there during the year from motorcycle shows car shows and swap meets. The gun show is pretty intense too! Just look up the Iowa State Fairgrounds on Google and look at the list of things going on all year round
  • Nothing compares to the Iowa State Fair. Bring your appetite and walking shoes. You walk for miles between the dozens of activities and things to see, live music, cold beers, and food stands. Personally, I cannot live without seeing the butter cow, a peruse through the varied industry building to sign up for things I don’t need only to receive incessant phone calls for months, Snakes Alive, people watching in the midway, ribbon fries, a Campbell’s corn dog, a pork chop from the Iowa Pork Producer, fried cheese curds, and a wonder bar. End your evening with a cold beverage at The Depot or The Bud Tent.
  • We attended Kids Fest at the time we went. It was geared for children younger than my son who is 11 years old. It was still a good time though.
  • I went with a group to the flea market. Google maps didn't take me to the right place but I don't know the area well enough to submit a correction. There was construction and fences blocking traditional roads. The flea market was not my type of thing, our whole group left with only 1 small item. I would have had more but the prices were steep for what was essentially junk.
  • The BEST FAIRGROUNDS IN THE COUNTRY!!! ☆☆☆☆☆ So many things to do and free concerts. ☺ Need to enjoy the experience at the Iowa State Fairgrounds!! 🤗
