  • Nice photographie of Viviane Maier. The permanent exposition, a micelanous of américain painting. A quiet restaurant with good simple food
  • Definitely it was some shock to see Radin sculpture there and some painting of Matis. Warhol was more predictable as each US museum should have a piece of good US art. It is fee admission so you not r...  read more »
  • Traveling through Des Moines Iowa, we took in this art museum. Most of the museum was not type of art that I prefer. My preference is for realism, but I did manage to find some that was interesting. I...  read more »
  • FREE admission! They have great temporary exhibits and key permanent pieces. Also offer classes in the building next to the art center. Nice trail to walk around the grounds as well.
  • It was okay, it was nicely laid out. It's more for art hippies and not for people that enjoy pretty art. We got kicked out because no one told us we weren't allowed to have our 6months old baby's diaper bag. That's why it got two stars. We got told at the last room to take it outside to our car so we just left. We probably will never go back if we ever visit Des Moines again. (We never got the bag out or bottles or anything since I'm breastfeeding) we were told to take it out since I had sun tan lotion bottles in the side pockets. I guess they must had people spraying their kids down sun tan lotion before inside 😔 We were going to donate at the end but since we got treated like outsiders we didn't.
  • Free admission to a worthy collection of various forms. Take a quick stroll through the buildings, or spend hours studying and observing. Staff is friendly.
  • Artistic. Inside the art center is a treasure trove. And the admission is priceless!
  • You learn a lot of history here! Great activities to do
