Inspirock Rating:
4.3/5 based on 2,600+ reviews on the web
The first natural-style zoo in North America, Denver Zoo is home to 3,800 animals of more than 650 species. Look for features like bear mountain and the largest gorilla enclosure in the world (where you might find gorillas are napping in their hammocks). In the zoo's open aviaries, walk among exotic birds and even some two-toed sloths. To really get up close to the animals, head to the giraffe enclosure, where you can feed these gentle giants some lettuce. Check the daily schedule for wildlife presentations. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Denver holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Denver Zoo and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • The staff was very helpful with my partner who has MS. The zoo was fun and informative and will definitely return.
  • My visit to the Denver zoo was unplanned and and unexpected. I have been to several zoos and was pretty impressed with this one. The exhibits were good and there were a variety of animals. Nice place.
  • We went on one of the days that were cooler and a little morning rain. Since we're from out of town when we go to ours it's hot and the animals are not out so we figured with the cooler weather the an...  read more »
  • Cool zoo, but you have to stop by the brown bear. It's a BBQ with smoked brisket, pork, turkey, links, etc. I was totally blown away. This brisket was better than a lot of places I have visited in Texas. It's that good! And the prices are not bad. $18 Mama Bear meal is enough for three adults. If you go to the zoo, you need to go here also.
  • Beautiful Zoo, lots to do! There are exhibits and shows going on all of the time including animal feedings and hands on experiences for guests. I love how many shaded seating areas are provided through the the entire park, even at the indicvidual exhibits. There was some construction going on putting up Christmas lights, but nothing intrusive. Gift shop had great options, and all the staff we encountered were polite and helpful. Great day at a great zoo!!
  • Went on a veteran tour with 3 others. Chris was our guide. She was very knowledgeable and we all had a great time. I was sprites by how big the zoo is - plus I heard they've been getting new animals so there is even more to see!
  • Some of the best animal caregivers have gone through a rigorous test of donating over 100 volunteer hours before they are hired staff members to provide the top quality of care we can give to our beautiful animals of the zoo. Please continue your great work Ministers of commission would ask if you could put a Butterfly Pavilion in this location an additional three million dollars will be given to this establishment and their educational role of species of insects. Commissioner of Education preserved global wildlife exhibits Blake Edward Westdyk
  • Love the Zoo! My family and I often come here for picnics and Giraffe feedings! They have awesome shows with the seals and penguins. The Elephant sanctuary is first class! I believe they are doing well, but they are also doing some real good.
