We needed an indoor activity that would entertain middle schoolers and a preschooler. They had a cool Viking exhibit, dinosaurs, beautiful animal displays, human science displays, space and other scie...  more »

My plan for the day was to spend about two hours and then move on to another location in Denver to explore. I got there about 10 and left at 5. There was so much to see, and explore and discover. Amaz...  more »

Great museum in the city's core with enough exhibits and events to last a full day. Parking is free on both surface lots and the underground garage. The massive property adjoins a large park which also contains the zoo within easy walking distance. A fourth floor observation deck has a stunning view of downtown with a Rocky Mountains backdrop. Many of the exhibits have hands-on activities to keep kiddos engaged and lots to interest older sets. This place is a tremendous value.

Awesome museum with plenty to entertain all ages, especially the little ones. Opt for a kid carrier vs the stroller, although strollers are pretty easy in most areas. The planetarium always has interesting features playing at extra cost. Lots of stunning views of Denver and city park, and as others noted, ACLU waits outside of the exits to try and solicit signatures. One of the only downsides.

Be prepared to be bombarded by the ACLU trying to get you to sign things against President Donald Trump when you leave. You cannot avoid it as they have covered the exits every time we have visited. Our child loves this museum. We bought the membership and have been 4 times this year. Exhibits are interesting and educational. Parking has been challenging but we have always found a spot eventually. There have been busloads of school kids every time we have been there. (I thought that would have ended by first week of June) They over-run the place. Have not eaten in the full service restaurant, but the deli was not worth the money. We always eat before we go now.

I have always like the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, but I have noticed over the years that it has grown a bit...stagnant. When it comes to bringing a brand new exhibit to the museum I am always excited by what I may see, but aside from that nothing changes. The "new" exhibits that were in place when I was in high school nearly 10 years ago are still there and are really starting to show their age. Some of the interactive displays don't work anymore and some signage is beginning to peel from the countless hands that have touched, scratched, and picked on them. Don't get me wrong. A family that has never visited before will have a marvelous day walking around the museum and seeing what it has to offer. However, if you have gone once you really have no reason to go again unless the main exhibit truly catches your attention as the rest of the museum never changes. I hope that some day the museum will give itself an update so that each time you visit there is always more than just one new thing to see.

Usually difficult to find parking depending on the times. But wow, what a great, educational experience! There is so much to see, from interactive space exhibits to dinosaur skeletons. I've always found this place fun no matter how many times I've been there. Highly recommended!
