Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Denver

Religious Site · Hidden Gem · Architectural Building
Designed in the elegant French Gothic style, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception remains a Denver landmark and masterpiece of construction. Completed in 1912, it boasts twin 64 m (210 ft) bell spires that have dominated the surroundings ever since, but it is the church's stark white interior that will leave you awestruck. Altars, columns, statues, pulpit, and bishop's throne are all made of finest Italian marble, while colorful stained-glass windows came from the Royal Bavarian Art Institute in Munich, Germany. • this was an ok cathedral. Run down inside and it smelled very bad upon entering. The outside is nice to look at though.  more »
  • Beautiful, French Gothic construction Cathedral Basilica in the heart of downtown Denver. Three daily masses (four on Sunday) and open hours. Tourists and photography welcome. Vintage, international-standard pipe organ, and the most leaded, stained glass than any church on the U.S. Beautiful place to visit or worship. Roman rite. Resting place of Servant of God Julia Greeley.
  • Came here for a wedding and was absolutely blown away by how beautiful everything was! Sure, the location in Denver is a bit odd, but regardless the building itself is breathtaking! The stained glass is intricately detailed and the music was divine. Everything seemed to come together quite nicely!
  • I was baptized there almost 50 years ago & it is SO BEAUTIFUL inside & out. Feels VERY HOLY & LOVE THAT THE ARCHBISHOP DOES THE MASSES THERE. πŸ˜‡πŸ™πŸ’›πŸ’πŸ’–πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜
  • One of the most gorgeous Catholic cathedrals that you will ever see. This is a beautiful place to worship God as a Catholic or Christian. I actually think I'm going to go this Sunday
  • Pretentious and rude staff. Made me and my boyfriend feel completely unwelcome with their comments as we quietly and respectfully attempted to absorb the architecture. I think they would be better advised to reflect on the appropriateness of their extremely overpriced gift shop at the front entrance, rather than commenting on visitors’ hats. There just may have been a story in the new testament about merchanting in places of worship.
